Feyre started with a simple, annoying problem: every sunscreen worth using either cost three times what it should, or left a film on our skin that read as ashy in every photo.

We grew up being told to stay out of the sun, and then handed products that made staying out of the sun look like the easier option. The formulas worth using were imported, marked up through customs and three middlemen, and half the time you couldn't tell from a listing whether what arrived would even be real.

So we built our own.

What we actually did

We worked with a manufacturer to specify three formulas, not eleven. A cleanser that doesn't strip. A moisturizer light enough to survive a Karachi August. And a sunscreen built on the same class of UV filters used in the imported brands people already trust, in a clear gel base that disappears completely on brown skin.

Then we printed the full ingredient list on every box and published it on every product page, because the fastest way to tell whether a skincare brand respects you is whether they'll tell you what's in the bottle.

What we're not going to do

• Sell you fairness. Sun protection prevents pigmentation and ageing. That is the actual benefit, and it is a good enough one.
• Invent an eleven-step routine so we can sell you eleven products.
• Run a permanent fake sale.
