BareScreen is a clear silicone-gel sunscreen built around three modern UV filters: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine and Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate. The last two are the reason this works. They are photostable filters that cover the UVA range properly, which is what drives pigmentation, melasma and premature ageing. Together they give SPF 40 with a PA+++ rating.

No zinc. No titanium dioxide. Nothing that sits on the surface and turns your face a shade lighter than your neck.

The texture is a thin gel that absorbs in seconds and dries down invisible. It layers under makeup without pilling and holds up through a commute, a sweaty afternoon, or a swim.

What PA+++ actually means

SPF measures protection from UVB, the rays that burn. PA measures UVA, the rays that cause pigmentation, dark spots, melasma and ageing. PA+++ means high UVA protection.

Plenty of sunscreens carry a big SPF number and weak UVA coverage. If you are fighting pigmentation, PA is the number to look at.

How to use

Apply generously to face and neck 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2–3 hours, especially after swimming, sweating or towel drying. Use it as the last step of your skincare routine, after moisturizer.

How much: two finger-lengths of gel for face and neck. Most people use a third of what they need, and under-applying SPF 40 gets you closer to SPF 15.
